We were approached by Magda and Ram to look at a garden office room for the purpose of an office space. Although Ram worked from the main house in a dedicated office, Magda needed a space where she could distance herself from the busy house and focus on her work. Alongside the need for an additional home office, the couple also liked the idea of a separate space that might be used to relax as a family and watch TV & films on a projector screen.
The garden room potential site was located at the far rear of their garden next to a shed. The space was full of bamboo, bushes and a tree. Our first day consisted of clearing out the obstructing vegetation in preparation for a clear worksite. The customers also opted for the electrics to be buried into the ground so as to hide the steel armored cable from view.
All in, the project went incredibly well and the only issue was in getting the sliding door system around to the rear (as the access was limited) though, with some simple engineering and care, the team managed to deliver the unit over a tall fence that adjoined a public path.
Magda has used the room through the coldest of winter days and has assured us that the room has been a perfect temperature throughout. This is thanks to the quality and thickness of insulation that we use on each and every build, and is easily regulated with her wall mounted thermostat (which is also controlled via her phone).
